Change The World, Create Something!

We here at Society HAE are all for creative thinkers using their “art” to change the world and have made it our personal mission to seek out people who are doing just that. We had the opportunity to sit down with Marc Ecko to talk about his current initiatives that have taken him out of the boardroom and into the classroom. Marc earlier this year launched Unlimited Justice*, a campaign to abolish corporal punishment in American schools.
FACT: 220,517 students received some form of corporal punishment in school in 2006 (according to the latest report of the US Dept of Education Office of Civil Rights Data)
FACT: Corporal Punishment in public schools is legal in the following 19 states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wyoming.
Check out our interview with Marc below to learn more about the Unlimited Justice* campaign and why it’s important for him to contribute back and have an impact that goes beyond his business and directly effects public policy as it relates to education.
