New Amsterdam Market

This was my first time at the New Amsterdam Market. I heard lots of great things about it and even watch a documentary about it, so it was really cool to finally visit.  One of my first purchases was this grapefruit and smoked salt marmalade by Anarchy In A Jar.  This was my favorite flavor out of the other jams.  She was out of the strawberry balsamic, which I would have loved to have tasted.  The flavor of this grapefruit marmalade is so refreshing and the salt just brings out the sweetness.

I met Cyrilla of NUTS + NUTS which produces gourmet Indonesian cashews nut snacks.      

The fresh cashew nuts are made in 4 flavors.   Spicy, Honey Sesame, Sweet and Salty and Lightly Salted.  I purchased the spicy which is her best seller and I can understand why.  I think it is delicious. I love the flavor.  It's made with garlic, lime leaves, cut chillies, salt and coconut oil.  It makes a really good snack if you like spicy.   Nuts + NUTS has a great social mission to support Indonesian cashew farmers and to raise awareness of Lupus.

Stone Ground Chocolate by Taza.  Great chocolate for eating, drinking and baking. I tasted most of the samples and decided to purchased the Salt and Pepper chocolate just for eating but the vanilla and ginger is definitely flavors I would come back for.  

The New Amsterdam Market is located at the old Fulton Fish Market which is between South Street and Beekman Street.  The Market is held every Sunday 11am-4pm.
