The first Asian artist signed to Rawkus Records for his Japanese rhyming skills, while living in NYC, is now breaking international boundaries from Japan with bilingual lyricism. Kojoe of On Records (Nagoya), is focusing on lifting Japan's veil off notable artists worthy of overseas accolades and rivalrous commercial appeal. Kojoe is established as the first Japanese artist to have a US single release premier on a Hip Hop album featured along side major recording artists such as Raekwon, Kurupt, Jadakiss, Pete Rock, Royce Da 5’9”, Redman, Method Man, Styles P, Crooked I, Keith Murray, Chino XL, Sean Price, Canibus, Planet Asia, Rass Kass and more. "Bodydown" from THE ACADEMY features Kojoe again, with Styles P and Jaecyn Bayne. The concept and hook of "Samurydas" was crafted by Kojoe, with an urban spin on the Japanese word "Samurai."  Acting as a cultural ambassador of Japan and Hip Hop, Kojoe's personal music projects network rappers, singers, DJs, and producers around the globe.

ア ジア人初しかも日本語でのラップを認められRawkus Recordsと契約しニューヨークで活動していたKOJOEが日本からバイリンガルリリシズムで国境の壁を壊しに名古屋を拠点とするON Recordsから作品を発表をする事になった。日本と世界の架け橋としてKOJOEの音楽は認識されるだろう。事実としてKOJOEのプロジェクトには 世界中のラッパー、シンガーそしてプロデューサーが参加している。

KOJOE は今年日本人初のUSシングルリリースの快挙を成し遂げた。楽曲の名前は「SAMURYDAS」しかもフューチャリングはRAEKWONとKURUPTで 曲のコンセプトとサビはKOJOE自信が作曲し手掛けている。9月にユニバーサルから発売される予定の「The Academy」と言うコンピレーションアルバムのファーストシングルとして選ばれたこの曲だが、アルバム参加アーティスト勢が半端じゃない。 Raekwon を始めKurupt、 Jadakiss、Pete Rock、Royce Da 5’9"、 Redman、Method Man、Joell Ortiz、 Styles P、 Crooked I、 Keith Murray、 Chino XL、 Sean Price、Canibus、 Planet Asia、Rass Kassなどと総勢合わせて55名のUSラッパーが参加している。9割皆も知っているレジェンドばかり。この厚すぎる層の中でのシングル争奪戦を日本人作 曲の曲が勝ち取った事実は日本HIPHOP歴史上最高の瞬間である。これからのKOJOEの動きが見逃せない。
