Lets Keep In-Touch

Good Morning,

I hope your day is going well.

Dam today is a weird day for me, I do not feel my usual confident self, am not sure if it has anything to do with 2 emails I have received in the last 12 hours, and I will come back to that.

I started writing this project about 5 years ago it was pretty much a short story then, developed the story into a full story, started developing the screenplay, bought onboard a friend to help me finish the screenplay, started casting and rehearsals.

I would say till that last checkpoint all was good, at the time I was a little naive in the raising the money issue, I knew/know I can raise all the budget but life usually throws curveballs (Financial Commitments) so things changed slightly which was not a problem.

I knew I had to start networking with the shot callers (producers, directors, bankers, and lawyers), so am off in my fine suit and great presentation to do some talking, smiling, drinking coffee/wine, talking, talking oh yeah and some more fucking talk. Take into account this went on for months.
So I at that point I contacted Viacom who hooked me up with a SVP of BET international, cut long story short I was in NY city 2 months after sending an email, no talking just a bloody email.
The meeting was a real eye opener/wake up and smell the coffee moment, these Americans are real serious about showbusines and showed me so much love, and I even got a producing job for their Hell Date UK programme which was at the time their highest rated audience programme since being in the UK.

Anyways am going off chart so am back in London full of fire, I raised the budget from private investors and 1 month before shoot they pull out citing credit crunch ( I will describe my emotions another day).
Fast forward 6 months, I know I have to be stronger, work harder and work in a unique way because I know things have to be different.

Now am almost finished casting, almost raised the full budget (Yeah Right) but right now I have to be meeting loads of people (production companies, head of Development, Investment funds etc) again as I have come to the reality I cannot do this alone as I have been doing and one thing everybody has in common is they all say 'Lets Keep In Touch'.

So back to the two emails, the first one was from an actor’s agent who told their actor loves the script and would love a role however it’s going to cost you £100,000 (I will tell u my reaction another day) and the second one was actually a phone call from a well known producer in France who did not even read my email but told me their slate is full and guess what she told me? U You got it ‘Lets Keep in Touch’.

Anyways I got to get back to work, tomorrow I will tell you about the cast or soundtrack.
