Change The World, Create Something!

Being a french girl, I heard of Soul Train TV Show but never heard of Soul! Since today, I'm spying over Channel Thirteen and Google to find out more about it, alternatively watching for the 1st episode of Soul! available on the website: “Elements”, featuring Earth, Wind & Fire and Linda Hopkins &...

(At that point, you're supposed to clic on the 1st hyperlink!)

To make it short, the show was born in 1968 on behalf of Ellis P. Haizlip, the only black producer at WNET. Every thursday night until 1973, the afro-american culture was celebrated and told by the dopest artists of that period. Max Roach, Curtis Mayfield, Earth Wind & Fire, Nina Simone or Ashford & Simpson but also figures such as Toni Morrison or James Baldwin, just to name a few. So much names that reminds me of the emptyness of the french TV when you are talking about music and culture! (but that's another story)

6 shows are now available, but the real thing is that this serie is part of a whole thema named "Broadcasting While Black", a retrospective of “early black-produced television"

Happyness is right here and the rest is following
