Change The World, Create Something!

Public art installations, farmer’s markets, first-class hotels, museums and shopping sounds like an awesome weekend getaway to me and exactly all you can expect to experience when you head to Atlantic City (AC). More commonly known for it’s casino’s, nightlife and the HBO hit series Boardwalk Empire, AC does not immediately come to mind when you’re planning a day or weekend trip. However, with a newly launched marketing campaign by the Atlantic City Alliance all that AC has to offer is ever more apparent. That being said call up a friend, pack your overnight bag and get ready to #DOAC.
Here’s our list of top "must do’s" while you’re in AC
DO SEE DUALITY.
Duality, a 3D sound and light installation of epic proportions is hands down a must see. The façade of the historic Boardwalk Hall serves as it’s 196,000 square foot canvas. Duality was created by Moment Factory and debuted at Atlantic City on July 4th, 2012. It will be on-view twice per hour each night throughout the summer. DO STAY @ THE GOLDEN NUGGET.
Having just completed a $150 million renovation Golden Nugget is definitely at the top of the list of places to stay while in AC. Located on the beautiful waterfront of Frank S. Farley Marina the property boasts not only amazing views but an on-site casino, a variety of dining options, lounges and shopping. More info here: http://www.goldennugget.com/atlanticcity/
DO VISIT THE AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE MUSEUM
Housing a collection of over 3,000 historical and cultural artifacts the museum “offers a unique opportunity to open a window to the mindset of successive generations of African Americans and provides an understanding to its cultural evolution.” More info: http://www.aahmsnj.org
DO EXPLORE AC BY BIKE
Rent a bike and tour the boardwalk or explore the city and it’s beachfront neighborhoods. Affordable bike rentals are available through B&K Bike Rentals. More info here: http://www.atlanticcitynj.com/visit/DirectoryCliDetail.aspx?CliID=2...
DO STOP BY THE FARMERS MARKET.
In addition to a vast variety of farm fresh fruits and vegetables, shoppers can purchase baked goods and shop with local arts and craft vendors selling everything from handcrafted jewelry to homemade candles. The Farmers Market is open thru September 29th. More info here: http://atlanticcitynj.com/visitors/Dining/farmersmarket.aspx
