Change The World, Create Something!

Last week NYC was a utopia for music enthusiast. The CMJ music and film festival brought out tons of up and coming talent as well as established acts who gave us a dose of the future and the past...Of course to a live music geek such as myself, I was in heaven with most of the other fans who came from far and wide to embrace the festivities. Unfortunately I have yet to master the art of "teleportation" (i'm working on it) and couldn't get to each and every event however, I did tip a lot of taxi drivers to cover same day events in limited time...Check out the coverage!

Duck Down vs Blacksmith Showcase at Le Poisson Rouge.

DuckDown and Blacksmith came together to bless the masses with love at LPRNYC. Talib, Pharoah Monch, Buck-Shot, Smiff N Wessun, Sean Price, Jean Grae, Dj Evil Dee, Peter Rosenburg and a plethora of other artist and dj's came out to show love. Amid all of the veterans in the place, the new talent repped to the fullest; Godzilla from D.C., "Yung Automatik" alongside "Bay Root productions" from Chicago and last but not least "Promise" from Toronto. Check it out!

Ghetto Metal at SoB's Presented by Bizarre Royal!!!

YOU ALREADY KNOW, The energy was at 1,000,000...People moshing responsibly, dancing on stage with the artist, the artist in the crowd performing their hits whilst keeping the energetic atmosphere intensified, What a show! Unfortunately I didn't get to see all of the talent that blessed the stage, but nonetheless I was exhausted when the show was over because of the therapeutic crowd interaction that Afro-punk shows induce...LoL Check out the footage!

CMJ Showcase at SoB's hosted by Eric Roberson

Mr. Eric Roberson the host with the most, put on a lovely show serenading the crowd with some of his soulful gems, as well as in-promptu grooves in between sets. Newcomers to the scene "Beyond this Point" and "Nina" touched the stage to the crowds appeasement. Check the vid!

Audibletreats Showcase at Sullivan Hall

Sullivan hall was definitely rocking on Thursday night with a 'Golden Era' hip-hop feel. Established veterans and accomplished 'New School' artist gave true to form performances. The stage was graced by; Chip Fu (Fu-shnickens), Bush Babees, Torae, Big Pooh and the H.O.J family (Joe Scudda, Chaundon and Jozeemo), Nottz, Diamond District (from D.C.), Rah Digga, Asher Roth, Von Pea (Tanya Morgan) and Black Sheep...check the pics and stuff!

The Foreign Exchange at B.B. Kings

The week long CMJ festival came to a close courtesy of "The Foreign Exchange" ft Zo!. The 'Maestro' himself Phontigallo, Nicolay, D. Brockington and the crew gave the crowd at B.B. Kings a great show. Big Pooh and Jessie Boykins III helped add to the grandiose of the night. The crew performed hits from; "Connected," "Leave it all behind," "Authenticity" and Zo!'s "Sun storm" album. What more could you ask for, Phontigallo with his comical antics, showmanship at it's finest and a nostalgic (Phonte and Big Pooh) "Little Brother" reunion. Check out the footage.
