Change The World, Create Something!

From the dusty roads and waste-clogged streets of India to the scarred and decapitated mountaintops of America’s Appalachia, Brian Hills expansive documentary, Climate of Change, reveals the current and long-term impact of poor environmental practices. Climate of Change spans for continents: Africa, America, India, and Europe. On each continent, Hill and his team chronicle the lives of people who are committed to promoting sustainable practices.

The opening of the film, a candid and somewhat humorous conversation with pre-teen environmentalists in India, juxtaposes well against the film’s more serious tone. For 85 minutes, interviews and high-definition footage rolls across the screen, and across the globe, revealing example after example of the mass destruction of environmentally antagonist practices such as plastic use, strip mining, and deforestation. In addition to the riveting cinematography, the triumph of Climate of Change is the film’s unique fusion of genres. Superimposed over traditional documentary devices are the verses of British poet Simon Armitage. Tilda Swinton narrates Armitage’s words.

Climate of Change
is showing at the Tribeca Film Festival through Tuesday May 18, 2010. For schedule, location, and prices visit the Tribeca Film Festival’s website. A Climate of Change will also be available on demand.
