Change The World, Create Something!

27 Day All Live All Local All Jamaica Detox... Day 4

.... sometimes thirst seems like hunger...

Yesterday I was too full to even write.

I sipped (ate) mature coconut meat, avocado, mangoes, bananas, fresh pressed sugar cane juice, ackee, bok choi... the list goes on.

I couldn't figure out why I was so hungry, or more importantly, just kept eating.

And then it dawned on me... I arrived Wednesday early and had a huge jelly (young coconut)... and then in the evening I had the water from a mature coconut. And that was my only liquid intake. For more than 24 hours I was dehydrated!

To compensate for the lack of water, on Friday I ate and ate and ate. Of course mentally I justified the incessant eating by telling myself that I am in Jamaica and just miss the food. Really?! NOT!

Humans get most of their oxygen from breathing.... then water... and in small quantities, food. I was short on oxygen...and since I did not have water, I tried to compensate with food. Plus, I am really high in the mountains, so my body has yet to get used to the rigors of altitude.

Yesterday I tried to get water by drinking portions of tea... it felt okay for a little bit... but my body needed, wanted pure water.

A delivery of water finally came and I am happily partaking!

Lesson of the blog... drink and be healthy!
