Getting music in movies... How IHMG got theirs into "Fast Five".

The independent Hip hop scene can be so inundated with people imitating and fad followers trying to make a quick buck, I applaud Iron Horse Music Group (IHMG) for going another route and joined them in proudly reaping the benefits. I went to IHMG's Fast Five party at White Rabbit in NYC about a week ago to…See More

BIO: Things You Should Know about me...

TastyKeish illuminates New York City’s radio airwaves with her flavorful blend of sass, wit, and intelligence. This budding media maven solidly commands your attention with her comedic commentary and natural curiosity. TastyKeish officially launches the weekend as host of WBAI 99.5 FM’s Rise Up Radio on Friday nights, serving the New York metropolitan and tri-state area, and online audiences. She is a woman truly comfortable with herself, who says what’s on her mind; and approaches her guests and progressive issues with an open heart and mind.

As the oldest of three kids in a Haitian household, this Brooklyn native became a role model to her two younger brothers as she focused on her education and dreams of becoming a media superstar. DJ TastyKeish began her broadcasting career at Brooklyn College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Television and Radio. As a radio producer and host during her four years at the college radio station, she honed her skills through hosting weekly music and poetry shows, organizing on-air poetry slams, and producing news segments. Tasty also began her voiceover career while in college; and now has broadened into commercials, public service announcements, audio-books, podcasts and video games in both English and Haitian Creole.

Before joining Rise Up Radio, Tasty got her first job out of college teaching children the power of radio, through helping them produce their own shows and segments, along with instructing them in live deejaying. Soon after, she became a dedicated member of Rise Up Radio, WBAI’s youth produced social justice radio collective. As a producer and co-host, with friend and cohort, Digo; she ushered in a new era at RUR, reviving the conscious focus by booking engaging guests, producing thought-provoking segments and news, controlling the boards. TastyKeish blossomed into a radio renaissance woman, able to handle any task to keep the show entertaining and informative. Her diligence paid off as she has become an integral part of the show, popular with her listeners for her hilarity and her insight.

When she is not entertaining audiences on air, she is bringing joy to children in her community. Tasty is also as a licensed practical nurse for local special needs children who need home attendance. Her warmth, humor and sensitivity not only entertain listeners over the airwaves but also the clients she directly serves. Her magnetism and electric personality allow her to create bonds with patients and listeners alike.

Firmly staking her claim on New York’s airwaves, TastyKeish has been shifting to hosting live events and on-camera work; conducting on-camera interviews for the Royalty Media Group, a new company dedicated to improving the self-concept of women and people of color through entertainment, community focus, and networking. She is also preparing to host and produce her upcoming webshow, “Taste of The Town ” recently debuting on TotalBlack TV.com.

Stay tuned, you’ve only had a taste of what this spicy, and savory, lady is simmering.

Namaste Tasty!

I hope you don’t mind, but I’m sending you this post because

A) You live in Brooklyn
B) I don’t
C) My little sister, Therese, is performing at the BAM Café on June 27th
D) Since I can’t be there, I want to send as many big sister love warriors to go and scream and rave and cheer her on in my stead. It’s on the Society HAE events calendar, if you want more details.

‘Preciate it, baby!
