Brooklyn's Finest: A New Take On NYPD

Posted on February 25, 2010 at 6:30pm 0 Comments

“I would be there with the train coming at me,” says Michael C. Martin, “and I would have to tell [the director] to call me back.” As a former flagger for New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Michael C. Martin’s journey from subway worker to screenwriter is one of the many only-in-New-York stories behind Overture Films’ Brooklyn’s Finest. As a native of Brooklyn projects, Martin set the script in the Van Dyke Housing… Continue

Wow, congratulations on The Pencil Test, brother!! Just checking your site. Please know that I will be picking your brain for advise soon. I'm a writer...mostly magazine work, a bunch of anthologies (poetry and short stories), but my next dragon is getting my book of humor published.

P.S. Do you know (of) writer Lisa Teasley? We featured her two weeks ago on the homepage (I edit the section on the homepage called "Society Pages"). She's a contemporary hero of mine. I was so stoked to connect with her and have her on SHAE. My fav is her collection of short stories called "Glow In the Dark"
