ARTs East New York is a non-profit organization, we offer programs for the youth of our community through the "Young ARTist Institute" a 12-week Saturday workshop series for ages 9-17.
We offer the following courses:
Indepent Filmmaking
Fashion Design
Capoeira
Theater
Spoken Word
These 3-hour courses include:
"Positivity Workshops"
Special Guest Speakers
Field Trips
Career Pathing Conversations
Closing Ceremony (Special Event)
Job Description
ARTs East New York is currently looking for a qualified individual to fill the Youth Program Leader position. The qualified applicant will assist in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to:
•Provide a safe environment for youth ages 9-17.
•Supervise and participate with groups of youth in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including field trips, guest speaker seminars, positivity workshops and more.
•Plan and lead organized special events.
•Interact and relate with youth and serve as a positive role model.
•Work as a team with other Parents, Group Leaders, Instructors, and Supervisors.
•Be an ambassador for ARTs East New York and Young ARTist Institute on and off of site.
•Assist with daily set-up, daily clean up, and transportation.
•Carry out the goals, themes and schedule of the program to provide a consistent and high quality experience.
•Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Youth Program Leader is required to be trained in CPR and First Aid. (AED and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications are a plus but not required). Other requirements related to the position include:
•At least 18 years of age
•Experience working youth ages 9-17.
•Experience implementing youth activities and supervising youth in groups of 8 to 20.
•Completion of all staff training requirements.
•Must be flexible, creative and articulate.
•Must be available for a minimum of 16 weeks during the program dates.
•Must be available for staff training prior to program start date.
