Free Bike Rentals In The Lower East Side Starting May 13

Free bike rental in Lower Manhattan,NYC to start May 13
Starting May 12, you'll be able to reserve a bike in advance at
http://www.downtownny.com/bikearound

Starting May 13, you'll be able to borrow a bike for free in Lower Manhattan for up to two and a half hours through a program launched by the Downtown Alliance.

The bikes will be available at the South Street Seaport and can be returned at four locations in Manhattan, according to the Daily News. A credit card will be required as a gaurante, the paper reports.

i love this! but i'm too nervous to ride a bike in manhattan...maybe one of my new SHAE friends will ride with me :)

You can ride the greenways/bike path along the east river or the west side highway, that way you don't have to worry about the cars. But you do have to get to the paths. But I bike so I'm down. Maybe we can get a crew of folks together.
